Borrowed this from a previous project for its fit. A dream landscape. I love how a photo can be totally transformed … this was once a drinking glass containing some kind of bubbly. Now it represents Joe Loreno’s idea for how his trees are going to look.
Reflections … One of my early watercolor paintings, when I was not yet conscious of the differences between acrylics–where paint is dabbed into the scene with many little brush strokes –and the minimal swirling brushstrokes of loose watercolor. Plus, there was a plastic wrap experiment. Altogether a busy little scene.
This started as a watercolor study of sweet potato leaves and rapidly became a semi-abstract study. I’m sure I don’t know how that happens sometimes.
The only time in my life that I’ve ever risked looking directly at the sun was in 2019 when bush-fire smoke made that possible. Here the sun setting behind Chincogan or more popularly known as ‘Chinnie’. A little relationship to the story so far.
