Avatar Remaindered, 1

Back about three or four years ago, when I began this project … this paying out of my story debt, I must’ve begun with Chapter 2 of Avatar Remaindered. As–lol–I have not found Chapter 1 anywhere in the archives. Diligent searching, I tell you.

I thought I might link to it when I post up Chapter 23 as the avatar needs to be in the district round about now, and Avatar Remaindered was always going to be ‘published’ before the end of Lodestar.

Since a lot of readers have joined in the meantime, I decided instead to enable you all to read … if you’re interested … Sard Yon Kerr’s adventures from start to finish. I’ve gone back to the original and revised it. May follow it up with the chapters in between. Be easier to find consecutive chapters then.

Lodestar 66, Scrim vs Avatar Remaindered 23, Sard

After editing Scrim’s Chapter 66 Scrim Meeting Sard went looking for where I’d left Sard in his story. I had a feeling that I was repeating myself. Turns out that Chapter 22 (of Avatar Remaindered) was the last one I’d posted, and that I wrote the unfolding situation from Sard’s point of view in Avatar Remaindered Chapter 23, and from Scrim’s point of view in Lodestar 66.

While I did play with dropping Scrim’s point-of-view chapter and crossing into Sard’s point-of-view just for this chapter in Lodestar, realized that since all the rest of Sard’s story is told in Avatar Remaindered, Chapter 23 belongs there. And so decided to post just Lodestar 66, Scrim Meets Sard here and now.

Lodestar 61, Scrim

About five years ago, I reworked what would’ve been the next couple of chapters to submit to Worldbuilding Magazine, for an installment they were running on relationships, V3I3: Gender & Relationships

Since I was extracting the story from an ongoing Lodestar Saga and wanted eventually to be able to come back to it—as I am doing now—I changed Srese’s name and backstory. But, although she is called Kate in this chapter and has a whole different history, she is still Srese. As you will see.

Scrim’s parts in the whole deal have not changed, and that part of his life–as it is described here–fits in well with what’s coming for him.

Enjoy!
